I've been up all night with a sick bub and now I have the cold. You could say I'm having a bad hair day; I just want to stay in my Scottie Dog pjs, eat cake and crank up the fire - even fashionistas need a day off! So, today I will refrain from an outfit post and bring you some pins instead.
Here's a small collection of my favorite tight/socks combos. When I wear the tattoo tights I love watching people gasp and whisper and then realise when they get closer that I'm actually wearing tights! I'm off to the the beach for the weekend so I hope this cold buggers off before then, sniff, sniff...

New Sleekit Autumn looks

Thought I'd try a couple of new looks with my purchases from the Op Shopper post. For all you folks around the world, the 'Op Shop' (Opportunity shop) is the Aussie equivalent of the charity shop. Here in Melbourne, it's a massive shopping scene.
My first look I wanted the tan shoes to pop; teamed with dark and light hues, this is the perfect out and about outfit for me. (Had no idea Santa was hiding under the table, ho ho)

Top: Maharishi
Shorts: Stella McCartney
Scarf: Shop on Carlisle St
Shoes: Op Shop/Salvos
Tights: Leona Edmiston

My second look is a little 'Star Trek'. A friend once said I looked like an extra from Star Trek, derogatory comment or profound compliment? I think the latter.

Sheer Top: Bought from fashion students in Hong Kong
Skirt: RedDog 3
Boots: Op Shop/Salvos

I love when a parcel arrives on my doorstep from home, especially when it's from my best buddy Fi. We have been friends since school days and she is so special to me. With a heart of gold, she always takes time to stay in touch, even with the distance and a family and career in tow. Fi is the most stylish person I know, always creating her own looks which go way back to school days. Start of 5th year, she turned up for school in Bermuda khaki shorts and boots with a clean shaven head! The teachers were horrified, we attended a strict catholic school where uniform was compulsory; I bloody loved that! We were clearly destined to be life long buddies. Love and miss you and hope to see you very, very soon x
Here what was in the parcel with a few from the archives to boot.

Op Shopper

I like the concept but the thought of Op shopping would normally put a moth ball in my throat. I'm not a fan of wading through endless rails of potential crap; it's the same with sale shopping, I normally wait until the craziness subsides before I'll take a look. Inspired by you folks out there who pick up the best bargains at the Op shop, I fought of my fear of getting lost in the aisles and ventured in. To my absolute delight I picked up two fab buys at my local Salvos. Brand new leather boots for $20 and sandles for $12! Not a moth ball in sight...

Sleekit - What's for Tea

I'm a bit of a Tea Jenny and like to dabble in some home baking when the mood takes me. I remember when I was pregnant with my little boy I baked cupcakes; hunners of cupcakes, till they were coming out my ears! Pregnancy and nesting can take over a person and change them into a production line. Thankfully, I have branched out a little since then, and you can catch a guest recipe for 10 mins cookies over at 'What's for Tea' - a fabulous blog for the foody connoisseur!
Here's me on the couch enjoying a few of my cookies and a nice cup of tea looking all ladylikey.

Blue biker inner rock weekend

Had another fabulous weekend in Melbourne city, glorious weather, a rather drunken gig with the ladies on Friday night and plenty of family time down the beach - perfection!
Friday night, Eddy Current Suppression Ring at The Palace Theatre. I accepted a ticket for this gig not knowing anything about their music but well, what a night! Australian live music at its best: loud, punk, rock, crazy front man in PJs and slippers (he staged dived and made his way around the whole venue with mic in hand), fans of all shapes and sizes following in appreciation, legs n arms everywhere, heads bopping in unison. I've been to this venue before to see 'Florence & The Machine', an equally amazing gig. I like loud gigs with a bit of kick arse. Got me feeling all rock chick. Let me introduce you to my blue biker, teamed with an old favorite.

I have an endless supply of: bags, earrings, brooches, hair clips, badges, belts, scarfs, gloves, bangles...the list goes on and on, my wardrobe is overflowing - not a bad thing! Here's a selection of some of my absolute favorites.

The changing of the seasons have officially and finally landed on my doorstep; Autumn is here and with that brings a change in wardrobe. I love the summer and the hot weather but change makes you appreciate those days even more. I like change. Change is good for the soul.
I came across this bangle the other day and was drawn to the typography and statement: "One devoted person can initiate change". I wear this on my sleeve. I would like to think that, maybe this little blog might initiate change; ditch the head to toe black and add a spot of colour, chop your hair off because it will grow again tomorrow, take risks and don't follow the herd..

Just had the most gorgeous weekend break. My beloved and I stayed at the Bloomfield Hotel to celebrate the anniversary of our nuptials. The weekend kicked off with some surprise roses and fabulous pressie: neon digital watch which luckily co-ordinated with my Saturday night outfit. The hotel was a great little find but a little too noisy for our liking; situated on busy Toorak Rd, the noise of the passing traffic did take away from the ambiance but I loved everything else about it. The high ceilings, decor, great Bistro situated on-site and a plethora of vintage/music prints and details made for a very interesting stay. I fell in love with the bathroom and wanted to take it home, I made off with the amenities in true Glesga style instead...
