Santa has been and gone

Santa may have been and gone for another year but what good stuff he doth bring. Here is a small selection of my favourite gifts for this year. Unfortunately the cow shoes (not real cow) are too small for my trotters but hopefully an exchange will be cool. I love the aqua accessories and those books will keep Sleekit busy for the next few months. This Mor soap is almost good enough to eat but I won't be eating soap anytime soon, maybe a wee bit of Shortbread and a Voddy or too to bring in the new year. See you all in 2010!

Merry Christmas Eve

So it's Christmas Eve and like everyone else I have a hundred things to do. I take myself off to the local Elwood shops for those little last minute pressies and spy the most gorgeous maxi in a shop window, it's only $65 too, bargain! So I hastily make my way to the front counter but someone beats me to it and tries on the last one, eek, she loves it and takes it home. Ach well. I remember many years ago witnessing two grown woman fighting/wrestling on the ground over a turkey in the local Asda, it was quite a spectacle and very entertaining but humiliating at the same time. So with the season of good will and all I just walk away as there will be plenty more dresses for Sleekit in the coming year. Merry Christmas to all my gorgeous readers xx

Party Frocker

Dress: Cosgriff
Shoes: Wittner

Dress: French Connection
Shoes: Prada
I always find it a wee bit strange getting into the festive spirit when the sun is shining outside and Santa is in his speedos. Coming from Glasgow where there is currently a blanket of snow and my fellow Glaswegians are rugged up in their scarfs n gloves I feel a tiny wee bit homesick. So I've popped Slade 'Merry Christmas Everybody on the stereo', donned my santa hat and dug out a selection of my favorite party frocks. 'IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!'

Let me introduce you to my favorite Trench

With all this fickle Melbourne weather I get the opportunity to introduce you to my favorite Trench. I'm not quite a Burberry girl and spotted this retro print Trench in Gap (Glasgow) many years ago, it has become a wardrobe staple and I always get complements when I take it out.

Wedding Outfit of the Year

This weekend I went to a wedding at The Prince deck, Circa in St Kilda, such a stylish venue. I am always honoured to be invited to folks weddings and when it's one of your friends, even more special. The journey of this outfit began some time ago (Sorrento shopping trip) when I spotted this dress in a boutique in Sorrento. Loving the shape, fabric, colours and overall beauty of the LBD it was hard to walk away. Having already filled my boots on other goodies that day it was a bit of an extravagant spend so I did what all shopaholics do, I put it on lay by. Teamed with newly purchased black heels and minimalist accessories (Kinki Gerlinki braclet) it became a special outfit for what was a truly special occasion.

Cocktails and BAMA LAMA

So to the final chapter in what was the celebration of my 35th year. Cocktails at chez Sleekit, working the fringe dress that I had purchased a few weeks ago then into the city to Bama Lama at The Order of Melbourne, (50s swing, burlesque, dancin, grindin, soul and dress ups). Loving this gorgeous happy hour box and adoring this fabulous Kinki Gerlinki beaded clutch, given to me from my wonderful friends and partners in crime. The fringe dress looked fabulous but was a wee bit of a hazard as I kept catching onto unsuspecting jivers but what a great way to meet new people.

Thanks to all for a fabulous birthday week

Birthday Goodness

I've had a busy week celebrating my birthday. Was delighted to receive a Tiffany Box from my beloved (Frank Gehry ring) and took myself shopping for some birthday shoes. Out to dinner and a chance to take out my favorite LBD (bought for 25 quid 13 years ago from Karen Millen in Glasgow), teamed with Sportsgirl belt and of course my favorite Mimco box. All in all the girl did good and I'm heading out this weekend just to get the full nine yards out of my special day. Time to put the fringe dress for a road test, stay tuned...
