Red Cross Bargain

I found this hat at the new refurbished Red Cross store on Glenhuntly rd, Elsternwick. A bargain at $15, and all for a good cause too. They recycle new and used items that many of us seem to store or unlove. Definitely worth checking out, I nearly picked up the cutest little boned tartan dress but if you need to squeeze and take a deep breath to get into it - probably best to walk away, even if it was only $18. They also had a great selection of bags and accessories, the clothes hang colour coded making it easy to find a bargain without having to troll through endless rails.

Saturday was quite a cold day to begin with so I took my new hat on a road trip. Outfit goes a little something like this:

Hat: Australian Red Cross
Cape: Karen Millen
Dress: To the Max
Socks: Sportsgirl
Shoes: Nine West

Party Frocker

Dress: Cosgriff
Shoes: Wittner

Dress: French Connection
Shoes: Prada
I always find it a wee bit strange getting into the festive spirit when the sun is shining outside and Santa is in his speedos. Coming from Glasgow where there is currently a blanket of snow and my fellow Glaswegians are rugged up in their scarfs n gloves I feel a tiny wee bit homesick. So I've popped Slade 'Merry Christmas Everybody on the stereo', donned my santa hat and dug out a selection of my favorite party frocks. 'IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!'

Sleekit Road Trip Cont...

So continuing on my weekend away, a visit to the NGV for a spot of culture and an ACDC exhibit (all free!) I got inspired to wear my Alice McCall for Target dress. Had the most delightful meal at Il Solito Posto and then cocktails at Cookie (where I spotted Beth Ditto and the Gossip looking fabulous). More Martinis at 1806 ,The Carlton Hotel and The Emerald Peacock, so you might say I had some fun. I love this city!

Sleekit Road Trip

Stayed in Melbourne city for the weekend and visited many places I had not been to for some time. These shots were taken in Hosier Lane after grabbing some lunch at an old favorite, Movida. The lane is a working canvas for inspiration and creativity and a massive tourist attraction. Sometimes if your lucky you might just get a glimpse of something special....
Loving this Maxi dress on a passer by looking so cool in the 32 degree heat, didn't even bat an eyelid at the bride in the background who must have been sweltering in that dress.

Took the little red pumps out, teamed with blue shorts (I can't stop wearing them), Peter Alexander bag and red ruffle blouse from French Connection.

Stay tuned for more posts and yes I did go shopping!

Sometimes in life you gotta live and take a few risks, this weekend I will be risking the socks and shoes combo, weather permitting.

Sleekit Road Trip

Following on from my recent shop at DFO, I took a couple of my purchases for a road trip at the weekend. Casual shorts & T to a kids birthday party and skinny black pants out for dinner.
