I picked up more than a penguin in Philip Island, I like to call this my little peacock suit. I'm running with the whole colour blocking look at the moment and taking inspiration from mother nature. I found this skirt and top combo at Global Rags in Cowes, Philip Island.
So to the most important post of my little Melbourne city getaway. I have a birthday coming up very soon and every birthday girl needs a birthday suit or dress in my case so I was absolutely chuffed to find this little treasure hiding in a shop in Flinders Lane. I have been looking for a fringe dress like this for a long time and to pick one up for $30 is unreal. I plan to accessorise this up to the max, stay tuned for a Road Trip.
So continuing on my weekend away, a visit to the NGV for a spot of culture and an ACDC exhibit (all free!) I got inspired to wear my Alice McCall for Target dress. Had the most delightful meal at Il Solito Posto and then cocktails at Cookie (where I spotted Beth Ditto and the Gossip looking fabulous). More Martinis at 1806 ,The Carlton Hotel and The Emerald Peacock, so you might say I had some fun. I love this city!
Stayed in Melbourne city for the weekend and visited many places I had not been to for some time. These shots were taken in Hosier Lane after grabbing some lunch at an old favorite, Movida. The lane is a working canvas for inspiration and creativity and a massive tourist attraction. Sometimes if your lucky you might just get a glimpse of something special.... Loving this Maxi dress on a passer by looking so cool in the 32 degree heat, didn't even bat an eyelid at the bride in the background who must have been sweltering in that dress.
Took the little red pumps out, teamed with blue shorts (I can't stop wearing them), Peter Alexander bag and red ruffle blouse from French Connection.
Stay tuned for more posts and yes I did go shopping!
Picked up these little canvas pumps from Cotton On for buttons quite literally. A wee sleekit custom later and four new looks for the summer wardrobe. Broach from a previous post and the two button combo was given to me as a present from my dear friend Jussy. They come in all colours and a steal at 15 & 20 bucks!
Melbourne Cup is a special day on the Melbourne calender so I wanted to take this opportunity to show you a wee gem that is very special to me. I bought this vintage 1940s bag from an antique shop in the royal country town of Balmoral, Aberdeenshire, Scotland where the Queen resides in the summer months no less. This little delight is so treasured that I only take it out for those specials occasions, I should take it out to play more often.

Have called Melbourne home for the past 7 years but was born and razed in a wee town called Cumbernauld, just outside Glasgow, Scotland.
