Militarian and skinny trousers

Do you have a pair of trousers that you love but they sit at the good end (skinny end) of your wardrobe? I do, these trousers are size 8/10, finally I have shrunk my derriere into them; it's a damn good feeling! A new fitness regime of running and toning seems to be doing the trick. Hopefully I can maintain it, hard bloody work but oh so rewarding!

A sneak peek into chez Sleekit

Colour matching with my new Country Road pillow

As mentioned in my previous post, proceedings are in place for the sale of our much loved Art Deco apartment, reluctantly we will leave but it's time to grow up and get a house. For the last few days, I've been up to my eyes in cleaning products and de-cluttering as we prepare to open house for viewing. The irony is, this is the best our apartment has every looked! So here's a sneak peek into the world of chez Sleekit, a beloved little home that I will miss but looking forward to a new chapter, wherever it may take us...

Daily Outfit | Spring hues and change

 top: Honey Egg Design Group
skirt: ASOS
shoes: bought on my recent Queenland trip
necklace: Frankideas
ring: Studio Leanne
bag: Sportsgirl
tights: Sportsgirl
coat: RedDog3
shades: Rare Rabbit

Spring is in the air and I'm welcoming the change with open arms! The high street is full of bright, vibrant hues, perfect for my wardrobe. The other day, I came across this top, I had to buy it; it made me smile. When I got home, was delighted to find it matched perfectly with my new shades, love when that happens.
With Spring on the horizon, brings change to my life. After nearly 10 years of living in an inner city Melbourne suburb, we are moving to set up a family home in the burbs. I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time but the need for more space and a bigger back yard is pulling me in. My head is full of ideas and aspirations, it's a good feeling. Hope to take you on my journey...

This week I'm inspired by...Nature

These shots were taken by my beloved on our recent trip to Queensland, he has an eye to capture a beautiful image, one of his many talents. I could see these images working on square scarfs, printed on silk, one for every day of the week and two on Sunday! If only I had the time...

Sleekit on holiday | Queensland, Coolum

At Melbourne Airport in a wee bit of colour

We stayed at The Beach Retreat Coolum, what an incredible view to wake up to

Made a few purchases: shoes on sale $359 to $99, Vintage chain bag $10, fell in love with these Rare Rabbit shades $60 and the thong sandles were on sale $39.99, yes I was good to myself!

Lots of time spent on the beach, 2 mins across the road from the apartment

Well hellooo there, it's been a while, been off sunning myself in Queensland. We ventured to Coolum, perfect Winter escape with temperatures souring to 23 degrees. My days were mostly spent on the beach, making sand castles, throwing the frizbee, reading mags and relaxing by the pool. The apartment we stayed at had the most beautiful breathtaking views, got very used to waking up to the local surfers cutting up the waves. Was great to spend quality time with the family, life can get very busy, it's important to take time out and unwind.
Of course, I went shopping, Noosa was only 20 mins by bus, picked up a few treasures; particularly love my new shades, oh the colour.
Back in Melbourne now, it's cold and wet and still Winter but the trees are beginning to blossom; Spring is just around the corner!

Yellow, J Crew and holidays

I'm taking a little vacation to sunny Queensland tomorrow, escaping the Melbourne winter! Getting in the mood for holidays with some newly purchased jewels (J Crew inspired, ie a damn good fake), purchased on ebay for $35 after discovering the necklace on Lady Melbourne's blog. At first, I thought I would wear them separately but on Sat night, I put the necklace and earrings on for a few drinks with the ladies at Ilona Staller on Carlisle St; top pic with newly purchased scarf top and big hair.
Today, I popped up to the local nail bar for a holiday pedi and manicure, so all set; all I need to do now is whittle down the shoes and other accessories I'm taking!
Until next week...
Love Sleekit x

New scarf top

I'm fairly impulsive when I shop, if a like it, i'll buy it, within reason of course. Shopping criteria: colour, loud, under $30 = yes, you are coming home with me. I've walked by this top many times, located outside my local RedDog3, on a rail marked, 'Everything $29', should I buy it? mmm...Well, the other day I gave in and purchased. When I got home, the fit was a bit boxy so I pinned it with one of my brooches and voila, one fitted, rather loud print top.
