Bubs first wardrobe in the background

Picked these blue accessories from the NGV shop, bangle $10, ring $2.95, the brooch is from a vintage shop in Carlton
My tights are from Little Salon on Gertrude St
Love the collar detail, even works over my bump
Couldn't resist a little taste of Scotland, Tunnocks cushion from Etsy store nickimcwilliams for the nursery
My friends know me so well, perfect babyshower gifts for moi, Limedrop earrings and ring
Cutest summer romper, body oil

Firstly, I would like to thank my dear friend lady Anthea for her gorgeous wedding post. You will be seeing a lot more of this gorgeous girl on Sleekit while I concentrate on my little bundle.
Anthea and I both share a love for fashion and with that cemented a truly great friendship, not to mention she's one of the coolest most generous hearted chicks I know! Look forward to many fabulous posts.
So this it it folks, my last post before I descend into a world of nappies and night feeds. On the back of a fairly harrowing first birth experience I will be having a C-section this Wednesday. Mental to think I will be checking myself in to have a baby. I'm excited but shitting myself at the same time, its been 5 years since I nursed and burped a new born, I'm sure it will all come back to me, eek!
In celebration of my impending arrival, my closest friends threw me a baby shower and this is what I wore. Forever hanging onto my sartorial style even at 38 weeks, I purchased this gorgeous mac, had my hair, nails and feet done, added a few accessories and arrived a vision of blue. We enjoyed a fabulous afternoon of food, cake and what turned out to be a cacophony of laughter and good times. Thank you ladies, you know who you are and love my gifts.
Hope to see you back on here very soon when I overload you with baby pics and tales of cuteness, till then...

5 quid frock and the nursery

I bought this dress many moons ago on a trip back to Glasgow. It was 5 quid from George in Asda, 5 quid! It's been in a box since our move and I came across it the other day. I rescued it from the bargain bin around the time the DVF wrap dress was having its revival. At 36 weeks not much is getting passed my navel, even my maternity jeans are starting to feel uncomfortable, room for 2 and a bit more! I always liked the colour maybe I need more green in my wardrobe...
I've also been busy getting the nursery together. Here's a few details, surprised how much I am gravitating towards pink but I've mixed in a few more complementary colours too.
used some masking tape on an Ikea chest of drawers to brighten them up
bought this colourful set of wooden block from the Poppyshop on Lygon St
bought this paper flower from the Amor y Locura on Gertrude St
framed illustrations by Kat Macleod, one of my favorites, the pic in the black frame I bought from Etsy
The Bugaboo I picked up on Ebay for $300, it's practically brand new (would never dream of spending 2 grand on a new one)
Replica Eames rack, bought on Ebay for $35 and the jumpsuits from Seed

34 weeks pregnant and counting...

kick - yes, I know your in there...
yep it's happening, in 4 weeks time you will be a mother of 2...
  excited, girly moments beckon...

dress/night dress: Bonds
leather jacket: Gorman
scarf: ASOS
ring: Studio leanne
tight: Sportsgirl
boots: ASOS

Hello there, I've been a terrible blogger but I do have a big excuse! Only 4 and a bit weeks to go until the birth, eek. I'm at the stage where I'm ready to meet this little bundle and comfort is taking over my wardrobe. Today, I'm wearing a Bonds dress which I have been technically wearing as a night dress (shhh don't tell) but I'm scrambling for ideas and comfort is key.
As always, accessories have been my savour, here wearing an Aztec scarf which I stole from my beloved, oversize ring and these ASOS ankle boots have also been on high rotation. Reckon I'm the only pregnant woman who is more comfortable in a heel than flats.

Wee tartan terror

dress: Shop on Lygon St
tights: Sportsgirl
scotty dog brooch: Gift
shoes: Op shop

There's a wee tartan terror in my tum itching to come out and say hello. She jumps around morning, noon and night keeping her mammy up. Yes folks, this little bean is indeed a girl!
I'm very excited to be having a wee lass and can't wait to meet her, we're gonna have so much fun.
Will she inherit my Scottish/irish complexion or don a mop of blond hair like her daddy? For the first few years my son Mani had pure blond hair and folks would regularly ask if he was indeed mine. Recall one lady actually retorting "How did you get a blond baby?", wee bit rude I thought.
Will she inherit my roman nose that took me 20 years to love? Will she be tall like her daddy or a shorty like me? Only another 8 and a bit weeks till we welcome her into the world.
What will we call her?...

Trenched

It's been a while, I know, after my last post about being inspired and all!...All talk and nae action. To be honest, I'm finding it hard to get motivated to post. Trying to come up with new content given my wardrobe has been culled and how many posts can you do in the skinny jeans er, here's another.
My advice to any mum-to-be struggling out there to keep herself stylish, accessorise.
Here, I've gone for head to toe accessories to lift what is a fairly standard preggy uniform; jeans and slouchy/comfy top. The Marcs trench that I picked up from the op shop has been a god send, I can throw it over the top of anything and it makes me feel polished.
Till next time...

She's like a rainbow

Lurking in the back of my wardrobe was this rainbow dress from French Connection, turns out it fits over the bump and may just work for the duration of my pregnancy. Reckon I bought it about 6 years ago, thank god I'm a bit of a hoarder! I like to dress like a colour wheel and have been know to wear 10 colours in one sitting.
Found this on you tube, love the song (always makes me smile) and how cute are these illustrations...enjoy!

Casual caped crusader

jeans: ASOS Maternity
top: ASOS
brooch: Gift from my dear friends Jussy and Kymmmy
shoes: Nine West

You may remember the fabulous cape I purchased from Lady Petrova? Well, here's how I've styled it for a more casual look, I mean it's not just gonna sit in my closet waiting for a night out! Now 5 months pregnant, my wardrobe is shrinking but I will be wearing this beauty until I pop and beyond.

Me in skinny jeans!

outfit:
jeans: ASOS Maternity
top: ASOS Maternity
boots: Zomp
necklace: Frankideas
square ring: Studio Leanne
geo ring: Corky

You will rarely find me in a pair of jeans, simple reason, much prefer the comfort of skirts and dresses and jeans give me bumps that I would rather not entertain. However, I thought I'd give maternity jeans a try; elasticated waist for comfort and room to accomodate my growing belly. These Khaki jeans were on sale from ASOS Maternity as you will see from my previous post. They are very comfortable to wear but my only gripe would be the need to yank them up every now and then (another reason I don't wear jeans), the belly band could be higher. Saying that, since wearing these jeans many folks have commented how slim they make me look, er that's kinda nice so I can live with the odd yank every now and then.

Sleekit has a new baby

a few details from my bedroom

we built a new wall to house the walk-in
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter and the bunny was good to you. Easter, a time for new beginnings so they say, well for lady Sleekit, my world is about to change dramatically.
Yes, Sleekit has a new baby, currently nesting in my tummy and due end of September. This will be my second child and we are all very excited with the news and the prospect of a little one running around again.
My blog has been a little neglected of late, moving house, pregnant and nausea have all taken their toll, but now I feel ready to embrace it all.
My other new baby, walk-in-wardrobe, here's a first glimpse, still organising all my treasures, I have a fair few! (my husband has two racks at the end) what can I say, the lady has a lotta dresses. With a little help from my handy man brother-in-law, we reconfigured our bedroom with a new wall and created the biggest wardrobe, I absolutely love it, such a joy to get dressed every morning.
An ever expanding belly will bring many sartorial changes for me. I'm determined not to resort to baggy shapeless, dull maternity clothes and hope to embrace my belly and the best thing in the world, being a mum.
